Public Relations can either make you or break you!

Public relations (PR) is the practice of managing the flow of information between an organization and its publics. Public relations - often referred to as PR - gains an organization or individual exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items that do not require direct (with thanks to Wikipedia)

Maybe you’re an entrepreneur with a recently funded company in need of users, or perhaps you’re bootstrapped and actively seeking financing and you need a little something that will land you a more attractive term sheet. Every successful entrepreneur, will tell you that great PR can make you, whereas bad or mediocre PR can stifle your growth and possibly damage existing and prospective relationships. And, they all have ideas on how you should proceed.

But right now, the main thing that stands between you and success is getting those customers – and good press (traditional and new media) builds the bridge between you and them.

Press Release

Press releases must be short, sweet & to the point and - most importantly - newsworthy

Newsworthy press release topics can include new or unique products and services, support/involvement in community events/sponsorships/charities, new hires, financial performance, major anniversaries or other milestones, and renovations or expansions.

Research and maintain a quality media list of the media that your targets are reading and watching.

Brochure

Company brochures can serve to reassure customers, suppliers, and other business partners that you are a sound organization.

Use a brochure to communicate your organization’s strengths. Most brochures include a description of a company's product offerings, management, and key financial data. In addition to this basic information, you can describe those attributes that distinguish your company, such as technological innovation, reliability, or customer service.

Press Kit

Presentation matters in press releases or press kits. Make sure they represent your organization well and that they look professional and are well written.

Even if you are a startup company or a sole proprietorship, your company is never too small to have a press kit. This handy kit contains everything a reporter needs to write a bang-up story about you and your company. Will it cost a fortune to put together?

Some ideas if you want to do it yourself.
